The 2026 Women in Project Management Summit brought together over 200 female project leaders for a powerful two-day experience. Day 1 tackled the most pressing themes in project leadership today — from the impact of AI on the future of the project manager role, to delivering large-scale infrastructure projects under real-world pressure. Delegates explored how to build careers that survive industry disruption, how to speak with authority to senior executives, and the practical application of AI workflows and automation in project execution.
Our panel discussions challenged conventional thinking — including a candid "Ask A Man" session that explored what male executives really think about women in leadership, and a hard-hitting debate on why PMOs often become bottlenecks instead of enablers. The evening's Awards Gala Dinner celebrated outstanding women across seven categories, recognising transformational PMO leaders, rising stars, mentors, thought leaders, and innovative project leaders from banking, telecoms, IT, mining, healthcare, and the public sector.
Day 2 featured an intimate Executive Roundtable where senior leaders worked through real challenges — redesigning PMOs for value creation, navigating corporate politics, and shaping industry resolutions on AI, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. The key lesson from the summit: project leadership in Africa is being redefined by women who refuse to accept the status quo, and the community forged at this summit is the foundation for lasting change.
